American Heart Association Courses in Florida
Some hospitals and medical facilities may require that their nurses and EMTs be certified in American Heart Association courses like Basic Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Where can you take American Heart Association courses in Florida?
Health Career Institute is an authorized training center for the American Heart Association. We offer courses in BLS, ACLS, and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support). We have campuses in West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale that are authorized to provide AHA courses.
Basic Life Support and Advanced Care
Basic Life Support courses cover cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillators (AED) for managing cardiorespiratory emergencies. When a patient goes into sudden cardiac arrest or stops breathing, people who are certified in BLS are able to perform life-saving measures like CPR, AED, and rescue breathing on adults, children, and infants.
You might be interested in the ACLS course, as well. ACLS is an advanced course that covers what you learn in BLS but also incorporates more advanced life-saving techniques. The ACLS course covers sudden respiratory arrest, VF/VT arrest, bradycardias, stable and unstable tachycardias, and pulseless electrical activity.
The PALS course is completely redesigned and based on new scientific evidence from the 2005 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC. Pediatric healthcare providers develop the knowledge and skills to care for and treat critically ill infants and children. In this course, you鈥檒l learn effective resuscitation team dynamics, defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion, systematic approach to pediatric assessment, and more.
